Note: Information Technology does not whitelist domains or email addresses. Users must manage their own Safe/Blocked lists.

Some users may report that expected emails are missing or consistently landing in their Junk or Spam folder. This article explains how to check for blocked senders and add trusted email addresses or domains to the Safe Senders list in Outlook.
Add to Safe Senders List

Sign in to Outlook Web.

Click Settings in the top right.

Click Mail > Junk email.

Scroll to Safe senders and domains.

Click +Add.

Enter the full email address (e.g., example@domain.com) or domain (e.g., domain.com).

Click Ok.

Click Save at the bottom of the window when finished.
Remove or Add to Blocked Senders List

Sign in to Outlook Web.

Click Settings in the top right.

Click Mail > Junk email.

Scroll to Blocked senders and domains.

Hover over the email or domain you want to remove and click Delete.

To add a blocked sender or domain:
- Click +Add
- Enter the full email address (e.g.,
example@domain.com) or domain (e.g., domain.com)
- Click OK

Click Save at the bottom of the window when finished.
Alert: Outlook allows the same address to exist in both Safe and Blocked lists. If an address is in both, Blocked takes priority. Always check and remove the sender from the Blocked list.
