A-1061 (Main Campus) - Audio/Visual Setup for Hybrid Meetings

Overview

Applies to: All Users

This article provides instructions for using the Extron AV system in A-1061 at the Main Campus, including startup, input selection, audio adjustment, camera usage, and Microsoft Teams meeting integration.

Startup and Inputs

If the system is shut down (both projectors off and screens raised):

Locate the Extron touchscreen panel on the wall behind the podium.
Tap “Press to begin.”

Both screens will automatically lower and the projectors will power on. If this does not occur, contact IT support.

Podium Desktop ⇵

On the Extron touchscreen panel, tap PC.
Log in to the podium PC with your JJC username and password.
When finished, log off or restart the PC.

Important: Do not shut down the PC.

Laptop (HDMI) ⇵

Plug the provided HDMI cable into your laptop.
On the Extron panel, tap Laptop.
Ensure your audio output is set to "Extron HDMI".

Wireless Laptop ⇵

Alert: This room only supports wireless A/V for Windows 10 and 11 devices.

On the Extron panel, tap Wireless.
On your Windows laptop, press:
Windows key + K.
Select A1061-B.
If prompted, enter the PIN displayed on the projector screen(s).
Ensure your audio output is set to Digital Output (A-1061(B)).

Adjusting A/V Equipment

Audio ⇵

Adjust audio in this order for best results:

First, adjust volume inside the application or website (e.g., YouTube).
Adjust the computer’s volume.
Finally, adjust the Extron system volume using the panel’s slider.

Built-in PTZ Camera ⇵

Important: The built-in camera only works with the podium desktop.

Usage:

Open Microsoft Teams.
Allow camera (and microphone) access.
Use the camera’s remote control to control camera direction:
- Left / Right – pan camera.
- Up / Down – tilt camera.
- Zoom in/out as needed.

Note: The camera will automatically reset its position when user logs out of podium computer.

Using Microsoft Teams for Hybrid Meetings

Podium Desktop ⇵

Open Microsoft Teams.
Allow camera (and microphone) access.
Within your Teams meeting, check:

Camera: Aver CAM520 Pro2
Speaker: Extron HDMI
Microphone: Echo Cancelling Shure Microphones

Laptop (HDMI) / Wireless Laptop ⇵

Using a wired laptop connection or wireless device for Teams meetings is not recommended, as the room’s built-in camera and microphone cannot be used this way.

Please move your meeting to the podium desktop.
