A Surface Pro and a Surface Pen.
Reminder: Ensure the Surface Pen is charged or has a working battery, depending on the model.
Step 1: Prepare Your Surface Pro
- Ensure your Surface Pen has a working battery installed or has been charged.
- Check that Bluetooth is enabled on your Surface device. Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Bluetooth and toggle it On.
Step 2: Pair the Pen
- Press and hold the top button on your Surface Pen for 5–7 seconds until the LED light flashes. This indicates the pen is in pairing mode.
- On your Surface device, select Add device > Bluetooth.
- Choose Surface Pen from the list of available devices and wait for pairing to complete.
Once paired, test the pen by opening an app such as Edge, Whiteboard or OneNote. Write or draw on the screen to confirm that the pen responds correctly.
